Steve Thomas started in the industry as a laborer for his father’s company 30 years ago, he worked at a Texas Top 400 Architectural and Engineering firm throughout his college career and has worked for the fifth largest general contractor in the City of Houston focusing on Ground Up Class A High Rise commercial construction. As a Senior PM/Project Executive Steve has successfully built over 3.7 million square feet of Class A Office, Classroom, Laboratory, and Liturgical projects in Texas with a construction value of over $750,000,000. He has a diverse background that spans working with his hands in field operations for subcontractors and general contractors, field management, design and engineering services, project management, and construction operation and management.

 

He has always had an entrepreneurial spirit with a goal to follow the family tradition and start his own firm. In the first quarter of 2012, he decided that he had reached the point in his career where he had the experience and resources to start a firm of his own. In 2015 an opportunity presented itself with one of his most valued Subcontractors.

 

In 2015 Steve was approached by Flex-Erect, LLC, and invited to join the team as Vice President of Operations with the option to purchase the firm from a founding member. In November of 2019, the purchase was completed with Steve as the majority member of the Company. The intent has always been to expand the reach and capabilities of Flex-Erect by focusing our efforts on the quality of the product the firm delivers.

 

Steve's diverse background and experiences have allowed him successful relationships with project owners, general contractors, subcontractors, and suppliers. Steve’s passion leads Flex-Erect to find clients that align with our values so that we can help them complete their projects successfully.
