SJ has been in the construction industry for 25 years, starting immediately from high school framing custom homes. He worked his way up, became a foreman, then superintendent, and maintained his love of construction throughout every step. SJ’s adaptability and out-of-the-box thinking make him an essential part of the Flex-Erect team. Throughout his career, SJ has been part of many impactful projects. The one he says was the most rewarding to work on was a renovation for the Tejano Center School. The entire build team came together to find sound, economic solutions to the obstacles faced.
Father of 7 and grandfather of 11, SJ loves spending time with his family, playing games with his grandchildren, or going on walks with his wife Mary, and his dogs. On a Sunday morning, he is often at church in the morning and later on, tinkering in the garage. When he has the time, he loves to travel with his wife, friends, and family.
SJ has loved construction since he was a young boy and grew up building half-pipes for himself and his friends to skate on. His most enjoyable projects to work on were building hand-hewn, custom log homes in the mountains of North Carolina. Detail and organization are very important to SJ; keeping his eye on all the pulse points of a project is key to a job well done.
